Tech.Stronaut

Tech.Stronaut is a kids club created and run by volunteers at Platform4, Denmark. It all started in September of 2012 and the first semester ended in December. The club had approximately 19 children. The aim of the project was to teach children how to build rockets out of soda bottles, create a parachute which should be attached to a Robot and work out a release system whilst the rocket is in motion.

The purpose was to teach children about science, communal learning, testing and the experimental process that goes into creating a product. More Info

Each week the volunteers and the children worked together to create a working product, at the start we had no idea of how to finish or even make what we intended to do. But, in collaboration with the children we managed to learn, create and have a whole load of fun during the experimental process.

Few highlights from the semester

The project was such a huge success that Tech.Stronaut managed to make it onto NordJyllands News, "TV2 Nord" and on the danish popular kids TV show "DR-TV Ramasjang". I look forward to being part of more Tech.Stronaut semesters.
